CREATIVE LEAD.jpg

Creative Lead
& Art Director

This job required standing at the helm of a ship of creatives - illustrators, photographers, designers, art directors, stylists - and delegating a constant calendar of weekly, monthly and yearly events from one hand while leading with clear vision, art direction and communication from the other.

I had zero experience going into it.

But our team grew from 5 to 30+ in under a year while collectively grabbing hold of the skills to stretch big ideas over varied media through a gala, album launch, national conference, retreat and community events.

Project #1

Art Director

Certain projects called for both Type A traffic control as well as visual direction, so I stepped in to lead as the art director for a few projects - Leadership Retreat, Vision Builders and Everywoman.

Project #2

Style Guide

Without structure and standards, consistency tends to leak and communication rolls into OT. Along with our lead graphic designer, we set up a starter style guide to give our team a creative stick to measure their work against.

Project #3

Creative Culture

On one of our creative hang nights, the team dove into the definitions of who we are, what we value and why that matters.

Project #4

Neighbourhood Cards

Communication creates culture, so it was important to be succinct, be clear and be memorable so that anyone could pick this up and get it.
