10 with a 10 is a weekly interview series featuring strong women who run their gigs like a boss.

I've posed 10 questions, stopped laughing and crying long enough to snap a Polaroid and put their interviews up every Monday to promote their hustle with a wide community that should know about them.

This week, Elise Clarke, one of the most contagious and kind friends I've ever known, who is all at once hilarious and insightful as she navigates the world cracking her whip against slouchers.

1. What do you do and what does it give to people?

I’m an RMT, so I work people's stubborn knots and relieve aches and pains. 
On the whole I try to inspire a zest for big releases of physical and mental burdens. A new lease on life without pain, maintenance of tissue health and happy living is an AWESOME thing to give people. I try to enrich my clients with details about their body’s language. What their muscles, bones, and tissues are saying to me about the tensions in their life and how it’s manifesting in their body. I’m very heavily concerned with postural correction of my clients who have to sit in desks all day. We take on completely dysfunctional postures as we move throughout our lives that contribute to the functioning of all of our systems. Our musculoskeletal structure being where we can feel our physical pain, often manifesting in our back, neck, shoulders, and hips, but our digestive and mental functioning also directly influenced by the posture we have adapted.

The broader perspective that I try to give to my clients everyday is ultimately if your posture sucks, your life sucks.

2. What's a piece of advice you consistently find yourself giving out but find hard to take yourself?

Do your exercises everyday! I truly do love doing my postural exercises. I feel incredibly opened up and enlivened once I’m done them. I walk away feeling like I’ve just done something so incredibly good for my entire body and my digestive system. If you want to stay regular there are some awesome stretches that can help with that! But I do find myself skipping out on doing the full routine, or doing them at all on more occasions than I’d like to admit. So I get it when my clients lie to me about doing them.
“Yeah I did them a few times” usually means they walked out of my office and never thought about them again.
But I get it. You have to be dedicated to improving your posture. You have to be so repulsed by office chair “flat butt” that you are happy to jump out of bed in the morning and perk that butt up!

3. How do you rely on others to make you better?

How do I?
Or how much?
I think the answer here is HEAVILY.
And how many people? LOTS.

I've been extremely lucky to have my family, fiancé, and best friend be such rocks and huge mirrors of the person I am. I'm constantly channeling their wisdom at times of need. I have long conversations with each one of them on life and how it's possible to be better everyday. My partner is definitely my voice of reason and also the reason I don’t leave the house without my keys, without my phone, and with cat hair all over me. He inspires me to the nth degree with his creativity, mindfulness and crazy consideration for every living thing on this planet.
Except electronics. They feel his wrath.

4. Someone gives you 50 mill. What's the FIRST way your life changes?

That is such a huge number, I don’t know.
I get a clawfoot tub.
Student loan, gone!
Traveling, booked!

And then I’d have a lot of charity researching to do.

It’s funny, I just had a vision of me running down a road with my arms up. Thats what I’d do I guess.

5. What has compelled you forward more than anything else?

At first it was ambition and success. I wanted to prove something and that sucked because I didn’t know what or to whom.

Now that all I care about is my happiness, my life is grand.

I am extremely successful and life keeps giving me more of what I want. Success is definitely what you make it. As long as I continue to have the best clients in the world and am able to keep them pain free doing what they love, I’m happy.

6. Do you like when people ask you, "Where do you want to be in 5 years?”

I’ve always been goal-oriented. I will always know where I want to be in 5 years, happy is of course the biggest one. But I would be lying if I told you that I didn’t have concrete personal goals about my career, family, and my finances. I’m working on this with my Chinese healer because he thinks it’s giving me Thyroid problems.

Seriously though, it's great to have goals.
A sense of purpose heading in a direction is a beautiful thing.

7. If someone was handed a script of your inner dialogue this week, what would it say?

Am I honouring myself today?
Now what can I eat?
Goodbye 29, hello 30.
Ahhh! Slow down..

My new thing is trying to be mindful when I do simple things like washing the dishes, otherwise I end up creating what my fiancé has coined a "Dish Pyramid”. They’re very dangerous.

8. Are you spontaneous?

Yes and no. My fiancé would scream YES! in exhaustion.

I am spontaneous with my free time, but not with my work time if that makes any sense. With my free time everything needs to be felt before I make a decision. I like to see what the wind and the sun are up to and then I go!

9. Are you failing differently each time?

I make a lot of the same mistakes, but learn from them...

10. Paul Newman or Robert Redford?

I think one of them makes salad dressings?
